was previously in the 32nd Infantry Regiment (mounted and dismounted at different times).

Summer of 1864 -- Organized as Mounted Rifles Unit with Colonel Milton D Baber as the 45th Arkansas Infantry Regiment (Mounted). Assigned to Dandridge McCrae's Brigade.
Sept & Oct 1864 -Participated in General Price's Missouri raid.
11 May 1865 -- Surrendered with Brig-Gen Meriwether Jefferson Thompson (M Jeff Thompson) (Swamp Fox of the Confederacy) near Chalk Bluff, Arkansas (Clay County, Arkansas).
5 JUN 1865 - Paroled at Jacksonport, Arkansas (Jackson County)
He was 22 yrs old when paroled and was born in Tennessee.
By Dec of 1866 he married Julie Louise Simmons in Augusta, Woodruff County, Arkansas. Edward Townes Fallin was buried at the Augusta Memorial Cemetary in 1908. Julie had died in 1906.
