Born 04/06/1832 in Bedford Co. Virginia to Jabez Leftwich (b. 1792 in Bedford Co. Virginia) and Martha 'Patsy' Jones Early (b. 1794 in Giles Co. Virginia). Tubal was 5' 11' tall, with blue eyes and dark hair. He married Louisa Mae Snodgrass (b. 11/05/1840 in Giles Co. Virginia) on 05/15/1877 in Giles Co. Virginia. They had three children. Tubal was a 1st Lieutenant in the Thirty-sixth Virginia Infantry, Company H, Confederate Army, during the entire period of the Civil war. He took part in many engagements, including the second battle of Manassas and that of Winchester and was wounded three times. He died 10/31/1902 in Madison, Boone Co. West Virginia and was buried in Stallings Cemetery, Boone Co. West Virginia. ----- Film Number M382 roll 33 (2nd Cousin 5 times removed)
