My GGG Grandfather Pvt. Elijah Shaver enlisted on June 15, 1862 with Co.F 36th Regiment Virginia Infantry (2nd Kanawha Infantry) Co. F 36th Regiment Virginia Infantry(2nd Kanawha Infantry) saw action in the battles of Cross-Lanes, Carnifax Ferry, Fort Donalson, Cloyd's Mountain, Piedmont, Waynesborough. On the Muster Roll he was present from June 15,1862 thru December of 1862. and in December of 1862 thru to February of 1863 he was on a detached service.and sent to Montgomery County,Va. From March of 1863 April 1863 he was present according to the Muster Roll. From May of 1863 to end of June 1863 he was detailed to wagons. From July of 1863 to the end of April of 1864 he was detailed to teamsters. From May of 1864 to November of 1864 he was sent to Montgomery County Virginia..for sickness...according to the muster roll. But according to the Muster Roll on December 14, 1864 he was captured in Sullivan County, Tennessee. (Prisoner Of War) and sent to Chattanooga, Tennessee. And Surrender in the limits of the Department of W.Virginia for the month of April 1, 1865. And then took oath on this date of April 1,1865..
