Can Minie balls be fired from Flintlock rifles?

I am a bit daunted by the more technical topics in the forum, tbh. Still, my question stems from the fact that by the time Minie balls were invented, percussion locks were common. So are Minie balls also suited for flintlock guns or not?

Bleh. He said rifles.

Not really unless you cast them to the calibre of the flintlock, which were usually far smaller than the .50+ cal. balls of the rifled musket.

Yes, if it's the correct size. Flintlock rifles are usually made for shooting round balls and the rifling is often 1 twist in 60 inches or more. Conical bullets are usually fired from rifles with a 1 twist in 48 inches or less. This affects only accuracy, not safety.I was interested in this question in a familiar gunsmith who likes to play here [url=httpshttps://20freespinsnodeposit.com/]check at' target='blank'>[Read More]
