General Neroutsos

Is there anyone out there studying a General Neroutsos (I know nothing about him)? Or who is maybe related to him? I have a volume which seems to have been in his military library which might be of interest. Feel free to contact me by MHO PM. If that doesn’t work, I hope Brian W would give you my email; it no longer exists on the “members” page.

Cheers. And stay safe.

Trevor, pardon me. I missed your response to my initial question. I honestly don’t know who the guy is!

What I have is a reprinted English translation of a book that was of some significance between the wars, Giulio Douhet’s The Command of the Air (1921). My copy is a 1983 reprint of a US military publication from 1942. I can’t speak to the the military department which brought out the 1942 version, though one has to assume it was the Department of the Army. My 1983 reprint was issued under the authority of the Office of Air Force History, as a volume in what I believe is the “USAF Warrior Studies.”

That aside, on what I would call the false Title Page there is adhered a 2” x 4” card (slightly larger than a business card) showing a flag over 4 stars. Under it is written, in ink, “General Neroutsos”. Nothing more. I don’t know for sure if the 4 stars on the card indicate rank, but IIUC a Brig-Gen is a one-star in the US USAF. I certainly had no luck searching for a 4-star USAF General with that name.

A copy of Douhet is pretty much a necessity for a WW2 air war library. But I thought a copy apparently in the library of “General Neroutsos” might have value or meaning for somebody studying him or related to him. Hence my query.

Cheers. Thinking about you and Sigrid in particular during these tough times.
