Larry,

Was there ever a fiercer fight in that war than this one at Stones River ?

One of the bloodiest of all : indeed, in proportion to numbers engaged, reckoned to be THE bloodiest.


Clearly, this was no encounter engagement , but a set piece affair with both sides lined up and expecting it.

Looking forward to seeing what the next few days of newspaper reports you might pitch will tell us about Stones River/ Mufreesboro.
