You’ve given us another two gems there, Larry !

How interesting to see the cutting from the Kansas newspaper : another place with divided loyalties.

Intriguing to see its acclaim for Sigel : hardly a success story on the battlefield and yet he inspired more confidence in the writers than “ any of our Potomac generals “.

As for the Charleston Daily Courier, the language is exquisite : The enemy sustained a complete and severe discomfiture .

Interesting to notice Sigel being refered to as a "Dutchman". The confusion always being caused between Dutch - "Nederlander" and "Deutsch" - German.

Edit: Sigel would not even have consided himself as German but "Badisch"
