Air force question (1910-1960, Baltic Sea Region, incl. minor powers)

Dear all,

I'm looking for well-researched monographs/articles/online ressources listing European air forces from the beginnings to c1960. I'm especially interested in quantitative data (numbers/types of planes etc.), my regional focus is the Baltic Sea Region (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia/USSR, Sweden). The data resolution ideally should be five years (1910, 1915, 1920, ..., 1955, 1960) or less.

In many WW2-publications there information on the major combattants (Germany, USSR...), but, for example, not on Sweden.

Have you any idea? For navies, there are several comparable publications - but I searched in vain for the air forces...

Ideally it would be a kind of Jan Glete's "Navies and Nations", of Conway's "All the World Fighting Ships", or of IISS's "Military Balance".

I can read English, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, German, Dutch, and all the Scandinavian languages.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you very much!
Patkul

PS: I hope "(1939-1945) WWII" is the correct sub-forum...

Thanks for the hint.

I checked a few keywords, but did not get useful results.

Do you have a specific reference?

Have you tried books like “Jane’s Fighter Aircraft of WW 2”, I know they have references to finlands Air Force, as well of others.
I hope that a small help at least.

For snapshots in the 1939-1945 period your best bet is http://www.niehorster.org/000_admin/000oob.htm

For example, the peacetime Swedish Air Force in September 1939 had five active air regiments and 15 squadrons with 173 aircraft assigned. By 1945 they acquired over 1,000 more aircraft.
